"Our foundational institutional cooperation with ISM establishes a juridical and administrative basis for c-ECO in Brazil, integrating ISM's expertise in Roman Law and international legal scholarship with the Foundation's governance architecture for systemic risk."
Overview
The Silvio Meira Institute (ISM) is a nonprofit juridical and cultural institution dedicated to the advancement of juridical science, with particular emphasis on Roman Law, legal theory, and the preservation of Brazil's legal heritage.
The institute honors Silvio Augusto de Bastos Meira (1919–1995) — a distinguished Brazilian jurist, professor emeritus at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), and internationally recognized authority on Roman Law, whose work bridged Brazilian and European legal traditions.
